The First Strawberry

There is truly something awesome about picking the very first strawberry of the year. All that hard work finally paid off… and you didn’t kill the plants! A couple of months ago we planted everbearing strawberries. This is a variety of strawberry plant that will produce fruit not just once, but throughout the year. The beauty of this plant is that you can place it virtually anywhere in the yard that receives 6-10 hours of direct sunlight. Raised garden beds, pots, and even hanging baskets work very well. The best part is taking a break from the yard work and enjoying a ripe, red, delicious strawberry every now and then.
