How To Treat Cuts and Scratches

Cuts and scratches are inevitable when going on a hike or camping for a period of time. Especially with your younger aged scouts. The first responder Webelos adventure has us learning how to treat this.

Note: when administering first aid to another person for cuts or scratches, be sure to wear disposable, latex-free gloves and eye protection.

Steps to treating a minor cut or scratch

  1. Wash the wound with soap and water

  2. Apply antibiotic ointment

  3. Apply and adhesive bandage

  4. Keep the bandage clean and change daily
