Simple and Delicious Strawberry Syrup

This week our local grocery store has had strawberries on sale for only one dollar a pound, or an eight pound flat for only seven dollars! We have put strawberries on everything the past couple of days along with 3 pounds dehydrating for this summers backpacking trips.

One of the family’s favorites was this simple three ingredient strawberry syrup for your pancakes, waffles, or french toast that only takes about 5 minutes to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lbs strawberries

  • 1/4 cup sweetener of your choice (I used agave)

  • 1/2 lemon

Directions

  • Remove the tops from your strawberries

  • Place the strawberries into a tall container

  • Add 1/4 sweetener (sugar, agave, honey)

  • Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon

  • Using an immersion blender, completely blend up until a fluid consistency

  • Pour over your pancakes, waffles, or french toast

  • If you have left overs, store in the fridge.
